Wondering what's wrong with me...?

Wondering what's wrong with me...?

hello

I went to a local fair with my friends yesterday and went on a bunch of rides and ate an elephant ear (beaver tail). I felt fine. Today I woke up and my stomach hurt and fet queasy. I have a headache too and I think I might have a low fever. I'm also tired.

I had cheerleading practice on Sunday (its Monday) and at cheer practice, my friend told me she had been ting up all night.

What could be wrong with me?

I'm not going to the doctor. Just not happening.

Thanks.

maybe ur not used to eating those kind of food. and also fair food arent really that clean. and that food sounds nasty
Reply:First off, I'm not a doctor, so if one comes on here on how to remedy your sitch better than I, divert to him.

Second...Beaver Tail...Where in hell is there a county fair where Beaver Tail (masquerading as an elephant ear) is served as a main course? Just how big are the beavers where you are?

I have a friend who was once in Thailand schlepping around the jungles there on a medical trip. So he goes out one night and eats authentic Thai food (that didn't even have to be delivered!) and then he went out to a club and had a few of those drinks with the cute little umbrellas, even met himself a nice dame to take home with him that night.

The next morning, after the dame had gone her merry way...my friend begins breaking out in spots...ugly, off color spots, concentrated around his pelvic area. Understandably, he freaks...he's in a strange place, he's had strange food, strange drink, and *ahem* strange girl, I mean, right there you're batting a thousand for any number of bad bugs.

So he goes to one of his friends who was also a doctor on the trip who made him list everything that he'd consumed or that he had had contact in the last 24 hours. Turned out, the only thing that had happened was a little overreaction to the heat which created a rash, and in time it faded and then was gone (but man, was he FREAKED)

Similarly in your case, this sounds like a coincidental illness...where you've consumed something exotic and a sickness resulted, but such consumption didn't have anything to do with the reaction...in other words, had you stayed inside the night of the fair, it's a good chance that you would have gotten sick anyway. Sometimes, it's just our time.

As far as your friend hurling all night, I'm willing to bet her consumption chart would look different than yours...wash your hands (a lot, a lot, and then again after that) get PLENTY of rest, stay hydrated and get well soon.

Reply:it doesn't sound like food poisoning. probably a virus you and your friend both contracted. you were probably touching the ride bars/seatbelts (full of germs), not washing your hands, then eating - a perfect way to get sick!
