Fish batter recipes....?

Does anyone have a good batter recipe for deep fried fish?? I had some deep fried fish at someone's house and I asked her how she did her batter....she said she used the batter from better homes and garden, but I can't find the recipe....can anyone help me...the batter kinda reminded me of the batter used for elephant ears....

This is my best one.Batter. (For fish fillets)


1/3 cup Cornflower.


2/3 cup Flour.


2 teaspoons Baking Powder.


¼ teaspoon Salt.


½ cup Milk.


Sift dry ingredients, add milk and mix till smooth.

BATTER





1 c. flour


1 tbsp. salt


Pinch of pepper


3/4 c. cold water


1/4 tsp. baking powder





Combine flour, salt, pepper, and water. Mix until smooth. Cover and let stand 20-30 minutes. Pat fish dry with paper towels. Stir baking powder into mixture. Dip fish into batter allowing excess batter to drip off. Fry fish 5 to 6 minutes in deep fryer at 375 degrees.

3 cups flour


1 1/2 cups cornmeal


2 tbs sugar


1 tbs black pepper


1/4 cup paul prudomme black magic creole seasoning


( can sub 2 tbs season salt, 1 tbs cajun season instead)


splash of beer


Thin mixture out with water to a pancake batter-like consistency.

There are several really good batter mixes you can find in the grocery store.... Try one of those...
