Ok, I have this fake rubber elephant ear decoration in my aquarium. It is established, and have no major algae problems. I have only had clear slime grow on this one decor. I took it out, soaked it in diluted bleach, rinsed it, let it sit in the sun for one week.
I just put it back in there about 2 hours ago. In only 2 hours it already has some clear stuff on it. What the heck?
I can't keep this one aquarium decor from getting slimy. Why?
It's probably just the way it is. It is rubber-and it's in a tank with a bunch of fish who poop everywhere. It'll be slimy. If you can see the slime though and it's noticable in your tank I could see how this would be problematic.
