I live in Long Island, New York and we do have cold winters. I have planted elephant ears plant in my flower bed. What can I do for the winter.. Do I leave them, cover them or bring them inside?

Elephant ears plants?
You have 2 options

1 wrap them with gardem fleece and plastic

2 bring them in

Id go with the second option its much morre reliable!
Reply:If its not dead yet, you need to bring it inside. Since it has been so cold, leave it in the garage for a few days and then bring it into the house. You don;t want to bring it in right away as the sudden change in temperature would shock it. Elephant ears are not hardy in New York and will die if left outside over the winter.
Reply:Dug them up, put them in a paper bag wrap them up. Put them in a dark place, and replant them in the spring. Good Luck )O(
Reply:pull them up and cute them back and put them in a brown paper bag for the winter then in the spring replant them..the frost and the snow will kill the bulb...i still have to dig mine up...
Reply:They will not live the winter, you should try and bring them inside. I have not had luck with that. You should be able to do them like you do other non hardy plants.
Reply:i dont want to answer your question
Reply:In Tennessee which I would assume to have warmer winters than New York we dig them up and bring them in for winter. I left mine out once even though my father in law said not to they didn't come back next year.
