I like all kinds of books, styles, theme, etc. (even the more feminine books of romance). I just don't know which book is good to read right now out of this list. What is your recommendation?
What book should I read out of this list?
I suppose it depends on what you're in the mood for.
I've read quite a few of these and really liked the Secret Life of Bees. It's kind of a "life" book. I don't think you'd have to be in any particular kind of mood for this book.
The Kite Runner isn't what I'd consider a "good" book but it is something that you should read eventually. It's a well done book, if that makes any sense. It just isn't a feel good story. This would be good for a serious mood.
If you want an emotional, slice of life and learning book Tuesdays with Morrie is good for that.
Reply:I have the top 5 books and the order I would read them below. I have the honor of being able to say I have actually read every book on your list!
1. The Red Tent
2. Northern Light (Although the tea Rose was much better)
3. A Thousand Splendid Suns (a tad bt better than The Kite Runner)i
4. The Golden Compass (the first two books in the series are great. The 3rd wasn't my favoirte0
5. Water for Elephants
Reply:Farenheit 451. Then get the movie.
Then be glad you still have the freedom to read most books..
Reply:i had to read peace like a river for an English class and it was quite good. i'd recommend reading it. it has a good theme throughout the novel, which is hard to find these days.
my friend also said that the secret life of bees was horrible, but different people like different things.
Reply:I have only read Water for Elephants on this list. I like all types of books. This one was a nice easy read. No heavy thinking. Relaxing and enjoyable.
Reply:devil's arithmetic is very good! you feel like you're really in the story and the movie is just as good. it's sad...but good.
Reply:Farenheit 451
Reply:People have raved about "Tuesdays With Morrie" but it bored me to tears...
Fahrenheit 451 is a classic! really good...
Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing is good...
Reply:The only one on that list that I have read is The Bell Jar and I enjoyed it. It is kind of weird though and suicidal, but if you don't mind that kind of stuff, it is an excellent book.
